You may have heard that Lady Gaga is the first music artist to reach one billion online video views. Some of us here at Mashable say that's downright ridiculous — a tragedy, even — but other staffers are cheering her on.

And while we may not be able to agree on the merits of her music, we did think it would be appropriate to celebrate the occasion with 15 of the best Gaga YouTube videos. Watch these videos and tell us if you can figure out why Gaga has outdone all the competition — why does she appeal so much to the YouTube-browsing, web-savvy crowd?

Maybe she's just in the right place at the right time, maybe her label's Vevo music video strategy is responsible, or maybe there's just something undefinable about Gaga's global appeal. These videos might serve up some hints.

Although a glamorous, evening look, Michelle explains this can be toned down and worn for an your school prom, or even for work. Opting for a light peach concealer, Michelle conceals her under eye area and primes her eyes before shadow is used. Urban Decay’s Primer Potion is used on the lids before eye shadow - Revlon’s Illuminance Twilight palette. Michelle skips fancy brushes and applies this with her fingers; following with a NYX shadow along the ball and inner corners of the eyes. She then highlights the balls of her eyes with a pearly white shade, bringing the colour up towards the brow bone. Maybelline’s ultra liner is used to line the eyes and a white shimmery shadow is dabbed on the inner corners of the eye. False lashes provide a dramatic look and the eyes are relined to ensure the line is even. Curl the lashes and apply a generous amount of mascara to complete the eye make-up.
